Don’t mention my name, and my name shall pass on…
So I looked a bit into some of the “masterwork studies” I see pop up from time to time on Facebook and wherever. Saw they generally go about an hour, and try to catch as much of the tone and composition as they can in that time frame.
So I looked up some old paintings, chose one of Caravaggios (one of my favourite classical painters) and gave it a try as a warm up last night. It came out ok for an hours work I guess (maybe a bit more, as somehow my timer screwed up). Def didn’t finish all of it. Spent too much time focusing on the left hand side. A few proportions are off as well, oh well.
I can say though that this would be me. Show me the damn holes!!
Also got a nice whisky glass and a bottle of scotch from my mom on her return from her England bus tour. She was nice enough to bring me back a bottle of Glenfidditch 18 year. However, I should have been more specific on size. The glass however shall come in handy.
What I find interesting is that she was in the UK and actually Scotland for the referendum. She was lucky enough to be visiting for something historic, one way or another. I’m sure her last couple of days would have been more interesting if the Yes vote won.
